Public Safety Software

Law Records Management System Release Notes

January, 2019

This document describes the changes to EIS public safety software products included in the January, 2019,

product release. The product release encompasses all EIS products; including RMS, JMS, and CAD. There

have been numerous performance related corrections made in all products. Each product release includes

numerous corrections and enhancements but, this release note focuses on major enhancements that

impact the user.

This document is arranged by major products and modules. It includes descriptions of features and

capabilities. EIS systems are highly configurable and the actual appearance and functionality within your

agency may vary slightly from the descriptions given.

Document Convention

We have included a quick visual indicator intended to show each item as either a product feature

enhancement or as a tangible fix to an existing element.

The NEW Icon indicates a new feature added to the application.

The FIX-IT icon indicates a correction or modification to an existing function currently

deployed.

Deployment

While EIS strives to keep agencies current, specific deployment depends on contractual requirements,

modules deployed, size and location of the agency, and specific agency problems or requirements. To

discuss potential deployment or schedules in your agency, please contact your account manager or EIS

Customer Support.

The following changes are incorporated in the Law Records Management System, RMS Versions 19.1

Dashboard

Version: 19.1

Module: Entry, Inquiry

RMS now provides the capability to customize your dashboard. This capability brings attention to a

particular workflow status or action. We can configure a row or text a different color, or even make it

blink for you. This is a global setting for the entire agency. Contact support for the entire list of options

and for configuration requests.

Option To Warn Or Prevent Deletion Of Case Report With Property

Version: 19.1

Module: Entry, Inquiry

When deleting a case report that has active property in the property room, RMS can either warn the

user that it exists before deleting a case report or prevent the user from deleting a case report. The

default value will be to prevent deleting a case report. Contact support for option selections.

Auto check MNI

Version: 19.1

Module: Entry

RMS added functionality to search the MNI database once a name is entered into the case and you “tab”.

On the supplement page, once a name is listed in a case and you “tab,” it instantly checks the case for a

name that is either similar to that name, or an exact match. If there is neither, it will search the MNI

database.

Multimedia’s New Sort Order

RMS changed the sort order on the media page to ascending.

ANAGER EATURE NHANCEMENTS

The following Items are comprised of user interface enhancements included within the RMS, specific to

the RMS Manager application.

Added A Seal And Unseal Narrative Function

Version: 19.1

Module: RMS Manager

RMS added a new seal and unsealed narrative function to RMS Manager. It’s a simple process. Just open

RMS Manager and select “Seal Narrative.” Enter your case number and “tab.” Double click on the

narrative you want to seal. Enter the rest of the necessary information and finally, “Seal.” Now to unseal

it, you go through the same process.

Corrected The Issue Involving Adding New PIN #’s To Restrict Maintenance

Version: 19.1

Module: RMS Manager-Restrict Maintenance

Our restrict maintenance module received an update. Before, it required users to add PIN #’s again to a

list if they needed to make a change to a restricted report. Now when selecting a report number, a list of

PIN #’s will be shown that has access to this report. You can add additional PIN’s or groups to it.

Corrected Issue When A Name Is Changed To An Arrest Record

Version: 19.1

Corrected the issue where when a name was changed to an arrest record in RMS it was not updating the

MACR report.

the RMS Florida UCR Confirmation.

Corrected 02D

Version: 19.1

Module: FL UCR Reporting

Fixed 02D, Prior Clearance of U removed the relationship code but did not remove the relationship

offense, therefore creating a discrepancy in relationship to offenses.

Corrected 02D Forcible Fondling

Version: 19.1

Module: FL UCR Reporting

Fixed 02D Forcible Fondling. In the May submission, it is counting a weapon but not counting the

offense. This is carrying forward to the semi-annual submission.

Corrected Prior Case Removal

Version: 19.1

Module: FL UCR Reporting

Fixed when a prior case is cleared with a U it does not remove the relationship correctly. The submission

log contains both submissions. The first one is with relationship in place the second one is with the

removed the relationship.

Corrected The Burglary “Time Of Day” Check Boxes

Version: 19.1

Module: FL UCR Reporting

Corrected the issue where all burglary cases, “Time of Day” check boxes would not stay checked. The UCR

Code stayed completed, but the check in that field went away once you hit, “Save to Form”.

the RMS Idaho IBR Confirmation.

Corrected Cargo Theft Error

Version: 19.1

Module: ID IBR Reporting

If the offense code is blank, then the cargo theft code should be blank. Fixed the submission to handle

this situation.

Fixed Case By Exception Multiple Offender or VO Error

Version: 19.1

Module: ID IBR Reporting

Fixed when clearing a case by exception with multiple offenders or VO’s, the report would error out, even

though you have the offender info.

Fixed the issue where property did not require a value per OIBR, but was still not passing validation. It

was stating that it needed a value. The code was corrected.

Added criminal activity validation for Animal Cruelty cases 265 – must have A, I, H or K for criminal

activity.

Added Validation Errors Based On The Case Status Field On The OR IBR Face Page

Module: OR IBR Reporting

Added validation errors based on the Case Status field on the OR IBR face page due to OR IBR requiring a

case status Indicator on all submitted reports. Before, we did not validate for this field within the report.

Corrected Issue With Incident End Date And Incident End Time

Fixed the error, “Incident End Date and Incident End Time cannot be earlier than Incident Date and

Incident Hour” This error is being returned by the state on multiple records across the first 2 months of

submission.

Fixed 77 Property Category

Version: 19.1

Module: SC IBR Reporting

Fixed 77 Property category which allowed 0 value in Entry but then produced an error in submission.

IBR Offender Race/Sex UNK, Then Relationship Must Be RU Error

Fixed the IBR error listing where it states, “When the offender sex or race is unknown the relationship

must be RU”.

Corrected Vandalism And Attempted Auto Theft Validation Error

Version: 19.1

Module: WA IBR Reporting

Fixed when an officer has a vandalism (290) and an attempted auto theft (240) together, the report fails

validation.
