Summary
This document describes the changes to EIS Public Safety Software products included in January 2023 product release. The release encompasses all EIS products, including RMS, JMS, and CAD.
Each product release includes corrections and enhancements. Significant products and modules are arranged in this document. It includes descriptions of features and capabilities. EIS systems are highly configurable, and the actual appearance and functionality within your agency may vary slightly from the descriptions given.
Document Convention
We have included a quick visual indicator to describe each item as either a product feature enhancement or a fix to an existing element. Items are not presented in any specific order within the document.
The NEW Icon indicates a new feature added to the application.
The UPDATE Icon indicates an update to a feature or function currently deployed.
The FIX-IT icon indicates a correction or a modification to an existing function currently deployed.
Deployment
EIS strives to deploy updates twice annually, specific deployment depends on contractual requirements, modules deployed, agency discretion, and specific agency problems or requirements. EIS now offers a self-schedule option to our customers. Please navigate to EISServicePackUpdates and follow the prompts. To discuss deployment or if you have any questions, please contact your account manager or EIS Customer Support 208-580-0400.
RMS Service
FIX – Some agencies were experiencing high memory use by RMS Service which caused intermittent poor application performance. The cause of this has been identified and corrected.
Too Many Forms Error
FIX – Some agencies were experiencing “Too Many Forms” errors while actively working within RMS Entry. This has been corrected.
Offense EXIST Feature
ADDED - EIS has added the ability to use the EXIST feature on the Offense Screen allowing users to bring forward any previously entered.
Multimedia
UPDATE – Added the File Type extension of JPEG to the media upload function.
FIX – Some agencies which requested certain fields to be made mandatory or hidden on the publish function screen found that the configuration was different based on how they accessed. This has been corrected, the Publish function configuration will now be consistent whether it is accessed through the print button or via the media screen.
MIS Manager
ADDED – We have added some additional checks during the automatic name merge function which runs in the background. These include checking the State field when merging based on a Driver’s License Number. We also added additional checking based on Middle Names.
UPDATE – An alias record will now be created in MNI when names are merged.
The Jail Record now displays on Ima Test record and the Alias indicator is activated.
Email Function
FIX – The ability to launch your Microsoft Office email client and attach the open RMS record is now fully functional with Office 365. Please contact EIS support if this update does not work in your environment and if your internal policy allows this functionality.
Warrants
FIX – Corrected an issue some agencies were experiencing when entering warrant records using the same warrant number across multiple warrant entries. You will no longer receive a duplicate process ignored error upon save.
Case Management
UPDATE – This applies to multi-agency deployments, controls on table data in the GEO fields have been added so that only agency configured codes will be exposed.
State Reporting
FIX – The submission program has been updated so that the Complete and Approved filters are being appropriately applied.
California
FIX – Now, when a Date Occurred has been entered, this will be used to calculate age of victim for IBR reporting. An example would be a statutory rape which is reported after the victim turns 18 but occurred prior.
FIX – The program now handles multiple victim types properly. Reports may now contain both Victim and VictimOffenders. This does not override the IBR requirement that there must be at least two VictimOffenders in a single report.
FIX – Corrected the behavior of the assault/homicide circumstances field. Now, it only displays on offenses which require this field to be filled out.
FIX – Drug type of XX, which is used to indicate the item has been sent to a lab for analysis, now reports the proper quantity in the Submission file. Agencies will need to update the drug entry with a valid type, once identified, to be included.
ADDED – Validation will now return an error if an assault circumstance of 10-Unknown Circumstance has been entered with any other value. This circumstance is considered mutually exclusive and cannot be reported with any other circumstance.
South Carolina
ADDED – New validation rule was added, an error will now be presented when a user enters the same location type, except when allowed. The allowed duplicate values are 18=Parking Lot, 31=ATM, and 40=ATM.
Washington
ADDED – Users may now enter “NR” in the required IBR Offense Type field to indicate Not Reportable instead of using 90Z. The use of 90Z was causing some non-reportable arrests to be added to the submission file.
ADDED – Filtering was added to the validation program so that checks were performed on applicable cases only. This change helps to speed up the validation process within the State Reporting Module.
FIX – The Domestic Violence indicator will now be exposed for all 26 A-G, 280, and 290 offenses. This was corrected mid-2022, all Washington Customers should already have this correction implemented.
ADDED – Several new validations were added to the reporting process. These will help reduce the number of errors being submitted to the State. They include:
Property Segment Required based on the Offense Type being reported.
Exceptionally Cleared may not be used with an Unknown Offender.
Over 3 drug types being reported rules are being enforced at the validation level now.
Burglary (220) may not be reported with the lesser included larceny offenses.
Structures may not be reported as stolen when associated with a 220 offense.
Logic was added so that property segments associated to a non-property offense will produce an error.
State Gateways
South Carolina – SLED
UPDATE – The following masks have been updated:
ICHN – This mask now auto-fills as expected.
QWQH – This mask now auto-fills as expected.
YR – The destination ORI field has been corrected and allows entry of the full ORI.
SCWP – The mandatory Race and DOB information is now included in the outbound string.
DQ – Corrected the DQ key so that it may be used independent of the QW key.
QVRQ – The VMA field now auto-fills the appropriate code.
