Law Records Management System Release Notes
July, 2020
This document describes the changes to EIS public safety software products included in the July 2020, product release.
The product release encompasses all EIS products, including RMS, JMS, and CAD. Each product release includes many
corrections and enhancements, but this release note focuses on significant improvements that impact the user.
This document is arranged by major products and modules. It includes descriptions of features and capabilities. EIS
systems are highly configurable, and the actual appearance and functionality within your agency may vary slightly from
the descriptions given.
Document Convention
We have included a quick visual indicator intended to show each item as either a product feature enhancement, an
update, or as a tangible fix to an existing element.
The NEW Icon indicates a new feature added to the application.
The UPDATE Icon indicates an update to a feature or function currently deployed.
The FIX-IT icon indicates a correction or a modification to an existing function currently deployed.
Deployment
While EIS strives to keep agencies current, specific deployment depends on contractual requirements, modules
deployed, size and location of the agency, and specific agency problems or requirements. To discuss potential
deployment or schedules in your agency, please contact your account manager or EIS Customer Support.

NTRY EATURE NHANCEMENTS
The following Items are comprised of user interface enhancements included within the RMS, specific to the RMS
Entry application.
Report Log Update
Version: 20.1.3.0
Module: Entry
Corrected – Report Log Update will allow users to update the report log on completed cases.
1. You will need the Reportlog permission under RMSENTRY In Security Manager. Make sure the “Update”
field is checked.
2. Once this is completed, you will be able to update the report log on completed cases.

Signature Pad Requirement

Fixed – Specific reports in which the signature pad launch was failing.
Adding A Name To The Party List
Version: 20.7.0.0
Module: Entry- CA 555
Corrected – Adding an Injured/Witness/Passenger using the party list button will no longer remove the name from
the parties screen. This occurred when the registered owner box was checked and has been resolved.
Added Redaction And Annotation Tool Bars

Added – Redaction tools are now available alongside the annotation tool set for added convenience.

Added Category Field To Media

Module: Entry
Added – Media can be easily managed with the new category field that was added to this module. Choose a
drop-down list or input text to place media into a category that can be quickly sorted and viewed in Multimedia.

Save Any File Type To Multimedia
Version: 20.7.0.0
Module: Entry
Added – When configured, any file type may be saved to multimedia. This new feature allows you to efficiently
manage all case related documents in one place. .
The Add Media button is now a drop down which allows you to save various file types.
1. Choose “Add Other”
2. Using the windows navigation screen, select the file. NOTE: You may need to change the file type in the
windows screen depending upon what you are attaching. See yellow highlighted area below.

3. The name of the file will be displayed in the media detail area. You may add a title or category.
4. Press Save to save the media item to the grid list.
When you select one of these items from the list it will display the file name, and you will have the option of
opening and/or saving the file. If you open the file, make changes, and save it, it will prompt you to save it to your
desktop. Any changes you make to the document while open will not be reflected in media unless you save the
new version following the steps listed previously.

Updated CA IBR User Interface
Version: 20.7.0.0
Module: Entry – CA IBR User Interface
Updated – California DOJ will soon require IBR reporting elements to be submitted. EIS is preparing to meet the
State mandate that requires dual UCR/IBR submission during the certification process. This release of RMS Entry
will support both the UCR reporting fields and the new CIBR reporting elements. Please contact your account
manager or the support office for details on how to implement.
Facepage
1. Type of Report updates the UCR Code in the CA UCR code section at the bottom of the page.
2. If the date reported is before the start date only the UCR section is displayed.
3. If the date reported is between the start and end dates both the IBR and UCR sections are displayed.
4. If the date reported is after the end date only the IBR section is displayed.
5. The zip code is populated from the agency. If the LOC Zip Code is entered, it will update the IBR section.

6. When the Domestic Violence checkbox is marked it will display the DV Weapon field which will be required
to complete.
7. Once completed, both the Domestic Violence checkbox and DV Weapon will populate to the corresponding
UCR fields. NOTE: The UCR Domestic Violence section only displays on certain UCR codes.
8. When the Gang Activity checkbox is marked the Gang Type field will display and is required to complete.
Offense
1. The display for the offense section has additional fields added based on the IBR Offense code selected. C42-
C45 are California required and are populated when a statute is selected.
2. The selection of the violation/statute will populate the CIBR offense segments if they are configured in the
crime code table.
3. If Bias Motivation (8A) is anything other than 88, the Hate Crime Offensive Act (C12) is required and will be
exposed.
4. There is no offense data required for UCR.

Name - Victim
1. Any fields with blue indicate use with IBR submission.
2. If a person is age 60 or greater, the Senior Citizen checkbox will be marked in both IBR and UCR.
3. The Offense field under Victim Segment will only allow you to choose up to ten offenses at a time and will
be displayed separately.
4. If the Offense selected in the Offense field is indicated as being bias (anything other than 88) then the field
will expand to show the Association, Type, and Relationship (C23-C25) to be populated. Victim Types, I, L, B,
F, G, O, and R will display as bias options.
5. If there is a Homicide victim, then the submission will require the name. Mark the Homicide Victim
checkbox for the name to be added to segment 9.

Arrest
1. Once you select the statute from the Statute-Offense Code section (44), the Arrest offense field (45) and
additional fields, C42 and C43 will auto populate.
2. The Disposition of Arrestee 18 and Older field (C61) is required to be completed on all arrests when the
arrestee is 18 and older.
Property/Vehicle
1. The Property/Vehicle update has not changed and will prepopulate from selected fields based on
configuration.

Offense Crime Is Populating The IBR Code From CSP TO RMS

Updated – The offense crime is now populating the IBR code from CSP (Citizen Service Poral) to RMS. This
service must be configured by EIS to agency specification.

Updated Crime Code Module

Module: Crime Codes
Updated – Added ability to make a crime code inactive by adding an inactive checkbox. Once a crime code is set
to inactive, it will not display in the drop-down list under Offenses in Entry which eliminates the frustrations of
choosing crime codes that are no longer active.
Updated – Added fields to the crime codes that will be made visible when the state interface is IBRCA.
1. If the state interface is IBRCA the level textbox will be hidden and the Offense level (C45) will be used
instead. This will occur within the newly added fields.
Updated – After saving a crime code, the results grid will be refreshed.

1. The grid is set to row selection.
2. The Inactive checkbox is added as the first column to the
RESULTS grid. If you see a check mark, it indicates that the
code is inactive.
3. The Inactive checkbox is added to the QUICK SEARCH. If
checked, it will display all inactive codes. If it is not
checked, it will display all active and inactive crime codes.
4. The RESULTS grid is now refreshed after deleting an
offense code
5. The RESULTS grid results are now ordered by violation
code.

ROPERTY ANAGER EATURE NHANCEMENTS
The following Items are comprised of user interface enhancements included within the RMS, specific to the
Property Manager application.
Updated Multimedia In Property Manager
Version: 20.7.0.0
Module: Property
Updated – Scan from a standard TWAIN-compliant scanner directly into a property item at the click of a button
using our new scan feature. On activation of the interface, the system will search for the attached TWAIN device
and perform the function. If multiple devices are available, you can select the appropriate device as part of the
scan function by selecting the scan “I” button. Manufacturer's TWAIN software drivers will need to be loaded
onto the workstation in accordance with the installation. Contact our support office for more information.
