July, 2021
This document describes the changes to EIS public safety software products included in the
July, 2021, product release. The product release encompasses all EIS products, including RMS,
JMS, and CAD. Each product release includes many corrections and enhancements, but this
release focuses more on corrections.
This document is arranged by major products and modules. It includes descriptions of features
and capabilities. EIS systems are highly configurable, and the actual appearance and
functionality within your agency may vary slightly from the descriptions given.
Document Convention
We have included a quick visual indicator intended to show each item as either a product feature
enhancement, an update, or as a tangible fix to an existing element.
The NEW Icon indicates a new feature added to the application.
The UPDATE Icon indicates an update to a feature or function currently
deployed.
The FIX-IT icon indicates a correction or a modification to an existing function
currently deployed.
Deployment
While EIS strives to keep agencies current, specific deployment depends on contractual
requirements, modules deployed, size and location of the agency, and specific agency problems
or requirements. To discuss potential deployment or schedules in your agency, please contact
your account manager or EIS Customer Support.

RMS PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT AND CORRECTIONS
The following changes are incorporated in the Law Records Management System, RMS Versions
21.1 through 21.7.
RMS ENTRY ENHANCEMENTS AND CORRECTIONS
The following Items are comprised of user interface enhancements and corrections included within
the RMS, specific to the RMS Entry application.
ADDED VIOLATION SOURCE CODE

Module: Crime Codes
Added – Easily manage and identify crime codes by their source with the new violation source
column that has been added to the crime codes.

To manage the source codes, go to RMS
Manager and open Crime Code at the
top. Enter the source code in the source
field and then search. All the crime
codes pertaining to the source you have
entered will appear. NOTE: You must
have the RMS Manager Program and the
crime code access security objects issued
to you in the Security Management
Application to access RMS Manager and
the crime code module. If you need
assistance or have questions, don't

CORRECTED DUPLICATED EMPLOYMENT IN MCR

Corrected – Employment information no longer appears three times. If there are more than one
employment listed and one is selected to be deleted, only the one selected will be deleted.

checked. If this field is not checked, the

Added – The Honeywell 1900 scanner has been configured for a new feature to revolutionize how
data is entered into the RMS Entry Application. Rapidly transfer accurate data by scanning a
driver’s license from Oregon, South Carolina, or Washington into the name detail screen in
Incident, Supplements, FI, Warrant, Protection, Permit, MCR, Weapon Permit, Trespass, Pawn,
Register, and Parking modules.
DL scanning will scan the bar code and populate the name, address, DOB, Age, Sex, Height,
Weight, and OLN fields, saving time by capturing data and providing the user with instant access
to scanned information for the report.

CA 555 AND PDF REPORT DISPLAY

Module: Accident – CA 555
Added – Quickly access both CA 555 and generic PDF accident reports at the same time. Both
can be searched and displayed, making them easily accessible when you need them most. Once
“Find” is selected, it returns a list containing both CA 555 and any generic accident reports. You
will have the option to choose one or both at the same time. Once selected, the appropriate form
will display. NOTE: Some functions may be dependent on other interfaces.
ADD SUPPLEMENT TO RESTRICTED CASE

Module: Supplement
Added - Manage detailed information when adding a supplement report to an existing base case
that is restricted. EIS has added a new feature that allows a user to write a supplement to a
restricted case to simplify reporting. The user will not be able to update the case report, case status,
disposition, or state reporting data. None of the existing capabilites will be available such as the
names, properties, or vehicles. All other functions are available. The purpose of this feature is for
the user to record data such as notes, witness statements, evidence, etc. To enable, contact our
support office at 208-580-0400.

UPDATED REPORT LOG TO DEFAULT –
SHOW ALL REPORTS

Module: Report Log
Updated – Instantly view report log enteries across the case
when the “Show all Reports” button is selected. EIS can
default the report log to display all reports that have been
entered on the log. The “Show all reports” button will be
checked as a default. Uncheck this button to only display the
reports that have been entered that day. To enable, contact
our support office at 208-580-0400.
UPDATED CAD IMPORT TO DISPLAY AFTER FIRST SAVE

Module: RMS Entry – Import Button
Updated – Access the Import button on Incident Case, Supplement, FI, Accident, Citation, and
Trespass screens with this amazing new feature. Simply choose the import button to import case
information quickly and easily even after the first save. EIS has updated the Import button to be
flexible to the user. It no longer disappears after the first use.

Added – It’s never been easier to put your signature on a report while it is open in Report Viewer.
EIS has added an exciting new feature, which allows you to use your touch screen monitor to add
your signature to a report. For more information on how this works, please contact our product

CALIFORNIA IBR CORRECTIONS
The following Items are comprised of user interface corrections included within the RMS,
specific to the California Confirmation.
CORRECTED UNKNOWN ERROR MESSAGES

Corrected – Ethnicity allows a U value without errors.
Corrected - Unknown victim error has been removed for now. State warnings
may still be received.
CORRECTED SEVERAL VALIDATION ERRORS

Corrected – Issues concerning IBR Entry when they should be UCR entry have been fixed.
Corrected – Issues affecting supplements, selections from the Report Management screen,
adding a supplement before the base case, updating, and changing report data from the
dashboard.
Corrected – Both UCR and IBR display the correct entry elements.
STOLEN PROPERTY OUT OF A STOLEN VEHICLE

Corrected – When there is stolen property out of a stolen vehicle (240 offense) it can be
reported in the property segment without error.

CORRECTED CJIS VALIDATION ERRORS ON CRIME CODES
Version: 21.3.0.0
Module: CA IBR
Corrected – No longer receives a validation error on the CJIS codes mapped to the correct crime
codes. This correction applies to both the offense and arrest screens.

Instructions on correcting the CJIS code:
• Once the incorrect validation error is received, select the offense code section field and
then, “tab.” At this time, the system will populate the correct values.
• A dialog box will appear confirming the change.
• Once the screen is saved, the validation will be corrected.

• Traffic offenses that do not have a CJIS code will not be counted on an IBR submission.
An arrest validation will work the exact same way.

• Once an offense code is selected from the table, it populates the C42-C45 fields. At this
time, the IBR arrest offense code will populate with the valid IBR codes.
The CA IBR Submission was updated the
same way as the offense and arrest
screens.

Corrected – In report validation checks the Property Segment so it no longer produces an error
regarding an incident report must be submitted when data element six contains an offense of \
Kidnapping/Abduction, Crimes against Property, Drug/Narcotic Offenses, or Gambling
Offenses.

Corrected – No longer receives an error message, 604, Invalid Residency

Corrected – Ethnicity changed to allow “U.”
Corrected – The sex of the victim will allow a “U” value without errors. The warning errors
that are received due to this will be removed for the time being. A feature request has been

HELP SCREEN APPEARS ON UCR REPORTS

from the top drop down.
Correction – If the report date is prior to the IBR start date, it will appear as a UCR incident.

and a relationship is added in the Offender Number and Relationship fields. Once Victim #1 is
saved, the two fields will automatically populate on Victim #2 page.
